About:

The purpose of this scholarship program is to provide financial support for the education of people living with epilepsy, including patients, family members, and caregivers. UCB, Inc. seeks to recognize the personal achievements of those people living with epilepsy.

In 2017, UCB, Inc. will award 32 one-time scholarships to people living with epilepsy, and family members or caregivers of people living with epilepsy, for use toward tuition at a United States-based center for higher learning (trade school, associate's, bachelor's, master's degree, etc.). Thirty scholarships of up to $5,000 each will be awarded to outstanding applicants who demonstrate academic and personal achievement. In addition, 2 Epilepsy Leader Scholarships of $10,000 each will be awarded to outstanding applicants who demonstrate academic and personal achievement as well as a passion for advocacy, serving the epilepsy community and a persevering spirit.

APPLICATION:

To apply, you must certify that you are:

• A legal resident of the United States
• Diagnosed with epilepsy by a physician or the immediate family member (parent, spouse, child or sibling) and/or caregiver of a person living with epilepsy
• Seeking an associate's, undergraduate or graduate degree or enrolled in a trade school educational program
• A student who demonstrates achievement, possesses a strong record of participation in activities outside of school, and serves as a positive role model
• Graduating from high school or have already graduated from high school
• Enrolled in or awaiting acceptance from a United States-based center for higher learning
• Not a previous recipient of the UCB Family Epilepsy Scholarship
